IS IT OK TO DO THE SAME WORKOUT TWICE A DAY ? ? ?

I usually work out twice a day, mornings and evenings @ home, and these workouts included the basic stuff such as pushups, sit ups, crunches etc . . . I was wondering whether its ok to continue these workouts twice a day, because some people say its bad. . . I really value your opinion on this matter . . .
