How can you import your friends character to your ps3 for tiger woods 11?

we cant figure out how to play as both our characters in an offline game. we imported his character over playstation plus, but could not use it in my profile, so we created a new user for him. the game wont find his character when we load it from my profile. and if we copy his file in my profile it overwrites my profile. Any help?
