Which would be a better buy, Toyota 4Runner or Honda Pilot?

I'm getting ready to buy a new car, but can't decide. I have an 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, but it's time to move up. I like both the Pilot and the 4Runner, but I can't decide. I even like the new Highlander, but I do own 5 dogs and participate in dog rescue so I need a vehicle that can handle at least one large/medium crate. Any answer would be appreciated.
